GE wants to gradually use LED bulbs to replace CFL bulbs, the most important reason is the energy problem. In the same working hours, the energy consumption of CFL bulbs is greater, and it can only reach a certain brightness after a period of time after turning on the lights, which is undoubtedly a wasteful behavior.
 
Although GE has begun to reduce sales of CFL bulbs, other types of bulbs (such as incandescent lamps and halogen lamps) will continue to be sold. Although other types of light bulbs are not so ideal in terms of energy saving, they still represent the majority of the lighting market. CFL bulbs have become popular since the 1980s, and their market share has gradually increased and reached its peak in 2007, with a market share of 30%.
